The nation's capital receives a plethora of both local and foreign tourists alike to visit this historically rich area. With the increase of local residents and tourists each year, many venue places have emerged to cater to all the concerts, conferences and other events held here.

One of the popular venue locations in Washington D.C. is the Verizon Center. Formerly called the MCI Center, this entertainment and sports arena is named after its Telecommunications Company sponsor and is locally nicknames as the “Phone Booth”. Conveniently located within the Chinatown neighborhood of the District, it is readily accessible by both locals and tourists alike. The Verizon Center also houses a variety of sports teams which include the Women’s National Basketball Association’s Washington Mystics, the Men’s Basketball Team of the University of Georgetown, the National Hockey League’s Washington Capitals and the National Basketball Association’s Washington Wizards.

Another venue for sports events in Washington D.C. is the Nationals Park which is the home ballpark of the Washington Nationals (MLB). It is also considered as the first ever LEED certified sports stadium in the country. The Nationals Park is located in the area of the Navy Yard by the Anacostia River and can accommodate and approximate of 41,000 people as of the year 2012. The stadium is also able to give the audience a spectacular view wherein the Capitol Building and the Washington Monument can be seen in certain areas.

The DAR Constitution Hall is also located in DC and it was built in 1929 to initially host the annual convention of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Later on, a DAR Museum was built and in 1985, this concert hall was considered as a National Historic Landmark. The DAR Constitution Hall can seat an approximate of 3,700 people. The hall also contains a Presidential Box and 52 boxes. To date, this concert hall is being utilized as a venue for televised events, conferences, concerts and other large public events.
