The city of Providence in Rhode Island is known as one of the first cities that was officially established within the United States. Founded in 1636 by Roger Williams, the city of Providence became known for its silverware and jewelry industry. At present, this thriving city boasts a good education system, hospitals while still maintaining an industry in manufacturing. Some of the nicknames of Providence include “Beehive of Industry” and “Creative Capital”. The latter nickname was used to put emphasis in the city’s good arts and education communities.

Located along Weybosset Street, the Providence Performing Arts Center was first opened to the public in 1928. This multi-purpose theatre is able to seat an approximate of more than 3,000 people and is a popular events place to hold films, plays, concerts, Broadway musicals and other forms of performances. In 1999, the Providence Performing Arts Center was finally renovated and brought back into its originally architectural beauty and is now part of the list of National Register of Historic Places.
Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel, located within the downtown area of Providence along Westminster Street was opened to the public on the 5th of September 1975. The owner’s initial goal was to provide guests with a great listing experience by making them listen to his record collection on some nights and having live bands perform on other nights. However, people enjoyed the live bands more and eventually, the events place had live bands perform everyday of the week.
