Fargo, a city located within the state of North Dakota, is also considered as the largest city within the state. The city was established in 1871 and is considered as a melting pot for industries, education, healthcare, retail, arts and culture within the region. The city is also the home of the North Dakota State University.

With a city this size, it naturally offers a great mixture of culture. Since the city of Fargo houses several universities, many events and other theatre productions are showcased by these schools. Some of these theatre groups include Tin Roof Theatre Company, Music Theatre Fargo Moorhead, Ursa Major Productions and many more. Music organizations are also abundant in the area which includes the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra and the Fargo-Moorhead Opera and the Fargo-Moorhead Youth Symphony. Fargo also showcases the largest art museum in the state of North Dakota, the Plains Art Museum. For recreation purposes, locals and tourists alike can visit many destination attractions such as the Fargo Country Club and the West Acres Shopping Center.

The Fargodome, located within the campus of North Dakota State University, is an indoor athletic stadium which was opened to the public in 1992. Owned by the city of Fargo, this indoor stadium is able to accommodate an approximate of 25,000 spectators during concerts and an approximate of 19,000 people during football games. The Fargodome is also the home of the local Bison Football team of the North Dakota State University. Asides from hosting sports events, the stadium also plays host to a series of events such as trade shows and concerts. Some of these have included the Ribfest, the Monster Jam of USHRA and Disney on Ice and concerts for artists such as Shania Twain, Bon Jovi and Garth Brooks. The Fargodome also houses the Gate City Bank Theatre, which normally features local and touring theatrical productions.

Another venue located within the city of Fargo is the Scheels Arena, previously called the Urban Plains Center. This multi-purpose event place is located within the Sanford Health Athletic Park which also includes the Sanford Power Athletic Center and the Family Wellness Center. Opened to the public in 2008, the Scheels Arena houses 300 club seats, 40 luxury suites and can accommodate an approximate of 5,000 spectators during hockey games and 6,000 during concert events. The arena is currently the home of the United States Hockey League’s Fargo Force and also played hosts to events such as the 2011 US Curling Nationals and the 2009 IIHF World U18 Championships.

The Fargo Civic Center is another venue in Fargo which is known to host a wide variety of events such as community functions, corporate events, sporting games, trade shows and concerts and is located along 4th Street North.
