2014 Houston Rodeo Concert Tickets (HLSR Tickets)
There is an endearing quality to all things western, and it has become an enduring symbol of Americana. In late February, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo which is the biggest livestock exhibition and rodeo kicks off a grueling 20 day event at Houston's Reliant Stadium. If you count “Go Texan Day” it all adds up to a full three week extravaganza of Western and Texan events, ranging from wine exhibitions, concerts, cook-offs, trail rides, as well as the livestock show and rodeo.
During the three-week event, more two and a quarter million people are expected to attend the various shows and contests. Two years ago close to 75,000 people watched Jason Aldean perform. The World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest, more popularly known as “The Cookoff” had more than a quarter million attendees packing the parking lot of Reliant Stadium.
RodeoHouston is a livestock show at its core, and it has events for everyone to join. Besides the trail rides and the 10K and 5K ConocoPhilips sponsored walk and run, students can also join the calf scramble where participants can win a calf to raise and exhibit for the following year's show. For younger kids, there is Mutton Bustin' an event for 5 and 6 year olds to ride a sheep for 8 seconds, just like a bull rider, only tamer and a lot safer. Of course, there's the regular rodeo events, like bareback riding, bronco riding, barrel and chuck wagon racing.
Since 1937, the HLSR has been a signature event for Houston, and a pride of Texas. Every year it has grown bigger and bigger, and this year is not going to be an exception. This livestock show and rodeo has everything for everyone to enjoy.
