Martina McBride is one of the most famous American Country Singers of this era. She has been given many nicknames in relation to her amazing talent but many refer to her as the Celine Dion for country music due to her soprano like voice and beautifully sung ballads. Martina McBride was born with the name Martina Mariea Schiff on July 29, 1966 in the town of Sharon, Kansas. She has two brothers who perform in her concert band and a sister named Gina. Growing up in the small town of Sharon, Kansas, she was relatively exposed to country music all her life. Due to this musical exposure, she had eventually developed a passion for singing. At a young age, she had also joined the band called the Schiffters, in which her father acted as the lead vocals. As the years went on, Martina McBride began to perform with the band called The Penetrators and in 1987, met a studio engineer, John McBride. They married in 1988 and moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1989. Martina McBride got her first break into show business when she was offered to become a front act for a Garth Brooks concert. In 1991, she was able to land a recording contract with RC Nashville Records. The following year, she had finally debut with the single entitled “The Time Has Come”. Through the years, she has made the transition into a country pop style of music, thus landing her a series of hit singles. In total, Martina McBride has recorded eleven studio albums, the latest being in 2011 with the record title fittingly called “Eleven”. She has also recorded several compilation albums, a live album and a Christmas Album. In 2010, Martina McBride has left RCA and signed on with Republic Nashville. Her first single with the label was entitled “Teenage Daughters” which was co-written by the Warren Brothers. At present, she is co-headlining on the Eleven Hour Tour with George Strait.
