Comedian Aziz Ansari was born in Columbia, South Carolina on February 23, 1983 where he spent his growing up years. He had an easy life having been born to a medical doctor father and a mother who works in a medical office as well.

In summer of 2000 while studying at the New York University (NYU) he began performing as a stand up comedian. He graduated with a major in marketing but must have found his niche in tickling funny bones as he was included in Rolling Stones’ 2005 list as their choice for “Hot Standup." He was awarded “Best Standup” as well during HBO’s 2006 US Comedy Arts Festival.

In April of 2009, Aziz Ansari portrayed the role of Tom Haverford in the debut of the the show Parks and Recreation. His notable portrayal quickly earned him several citations that year including Entertainment Weekly as one of 2009’s “Breakout TV Stars”, TV Guide named him “Scene Stealer” and the topmost spot in Yahoo! TV’s “TV MVPs”.

Aziz Ansari’s comedic abilities took off from there. He was casted as one of the main actors in the critically acclaimed comedy show Human Giant, appeared in TV shows and films while he continued to perform stand up comedy.
