The Atlanta Braves currently belong to the Eastern Division of the National League. The team is based in Turner Field in Atlanta, Georgia. Their nickname was used way back in 1912 from the Native American warrior referred to as “Braves." The Atlanta Braves is also known as the Bravos or America’s Team because of their wide fan base.

They are also known to be a very successful team especially during the years 1991-2005. They have won the division title for fourteen consecutive times during those years. They have won the National League East from 1995 to 2005 and the National League West from 1991 to 1993. In 2010, they were able to return to the playoffs through the National League Wild Card in 2010. In the World Series, the Atlanta Braves have competed five times during the 1990s where they won the winning title in 1995. Throughout their franchise history, the Atlanta Braves have collected a total of sixteen division titles, three World Championships, and seventeen National League pennants. They are the only team in the Major League Baseball who has won World Championships in three different cities.

The Braves were formerly Boston Red Stockings then later became Boston Braves. They transferred to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1953 and were known as Milwaukee Braves. In 1966, the franchise transferred again to Atlanta where it is currently known as Atlanta Braves. The major rivalries of the Atlanta Braves are Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets.
