In their 87 years of wowing their audiences with their hard court moves, the Harlem Globetrotters have come very far from the comedic acts that they used to be. Now, they are one of the world’s favorite basketball exhibitions having performed at 120 countries in a total of 20,000 exhibition games.
This year, the Harlem Globetrotters gives fans more reason to be excited with the You Write Your Rules Tour, where fans get to vote online among some of the craziest rules ever heard which they want to see played at the exhibition game in their city. Any winning rule could totally change the way the whole game is played and its turnout. Popular choices include the four-point shot and the penalty box, while other rules could be playing with two basketballs at the same time or doubling the points per shot.
The You Write Your Rules Tour will be coasting throughout the North America to play 270 games in 240 cities in the United States and Canada. The tour commences in Canada at the Edmonton Expo Center on January 9, 2013.
As always, fans can look forward to the same highly interactive way that the exhibition games are set up, with plenty of audience participation, and lots of autograph signing, handshaking and photo ops at the end of every game. No matter which troupe comes to a city, they never fail to inject every event with all the fun and merriment that fans have come to love and enjoy about the Harlem Globetrotters.
